Tach does not see right??

Before I begin it, tach is already around 500 RMP.

Gaffrig gauge, with a blurt out story switch and reset. But the blurt out story does not work.

Just paid for the boat, so not certain how it should work it looks elementary and obvious, but you never know

Motor is a 500 HP carb.

How can I check?

I hatred the thought of shopping a new tach, and 0 wro ng with the old one.

Or might be the that switchnot certain how that switch works

Tattle tail is for the GPS Speedometer. Should show tip speed until reset.Gauge might be at 500rpm. When engine fires it should review correctly. Good luck

It"s a Gaffrid switch, with 3 ions. I think is says TACH, RecallErase.

Won"t be at the vessel cell the weekend, will stand in check what they show.

O.K. Now I know something is wonky. THis weekend, was all over the place, or did 0 at all....

Where should I begin to see to see where the complaint could be?

Start at the behind and work your approach brazen would be my advice.

Tachs mostly don"t go to 0 with the key in the off position. They should go to 0 with the key in the on on all sides and engine not running.

Thanks Griff, I"ll check if the you do that.It does not read, or usually shows 2000, the not close to being accurate.

New vessel to me, so not 100% familar with the sound, but I think I"m bouncing off the rev limiter. Would similar to to girls try a little props, but unequivocally need to get the tach in sequence prior to I begin perplexing props.
